I have been making baby products in my home for the past 4 years. Ten Tiny Toes Burp Cloth Company was created when I was pregnant with my son. In my searching for burp cloths, I was very disappointed with the quality of the burp cloths sold in big box stores and after a friend made me 3 homemade flannel burp cloths I determined that I could make more for myself. It soon turned into a hobby as I made them for friends and family that were having babies. And the rest is history.

Right after Christmas 2008 I received an email regarding a new lead law called the 2008 Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). At first I did not think the law pertained to me but after some further research I realized that not only did it effect me but also thousands of other small businesses. From that point on, fighting CPSIA became a priority not only to save my business but for all of the “little guys” out there. As the February 10th deadline approached, I became even more concerned that the little business I had created to fill a nitch was going to be forced out of business.

It was a major relief to receive news yesterday that Consumer Product Safety Administration had announced that they were postponing the required testing until February 2010. I can honestly say that I am so happy to still be in business. I enjoy creating and sharing my products with others. I want to thank everyone that has supported me and others like me and I appreciate your continued support as we fight on.
